Goodbye 2009………

Thursday, December 31st, 2009

This has been quite a year!   So many things happened,  both good and bad.    We still have our health and the family is very close.    That is the most important things to us anyway.

Well today was not a bad day.   I ran some errands after the husband got home,  went to the gym and got a good workout in.     The sun was shining for a while today,  even though it was very cold,  the sun was very welcoming.     Now if only the temperature would warm up to at least 30 degrees,  we could get some of the damn snow to melt.      But that won’t happen any time soon.   It seems the next week is only going to be between 6 and 12 degrees for the daily highs.    That is our heat wave!   WOOO HOO!!    Oh brother……..

Anyway,  tonight is not an exciting night,  in that we are not going out for New Years.    We however,  will be enjoying a nice movie when the kids go to bed.    That will be a good night.   Then we will still be awake when the clock strikes Midnight and we can give each other a kiss and make our New Years resolutions.     We both have the same major one,   and as long as that happens,  2010 will be a fantastic one for us!

So I am going to finish up some things here before the kids have to get to bed and my movie begins………I wish  you all a fantastic night and have much fun tonight,  but be safe!     KISSES and warm hugs to every one of you!!

NEW YEARS EVE Baby!!!!!!

Almost New Years Eve!

Wednesday, December 30th, 2009

Last night I fell asleep quite early in my comfy chair.    When I woke up,   I thought it was around 11:00PM,  and when I looked at my clock it indeed was 1:10AM!    Geez!    I know I was sleeping by 9:00 for sure.     I must have been very tired!   So that is why I didn’t do my blog.

Today me and the kids ran some errands right away this morning.    I get my bread at a outlet,  which is very cheap per loaf of bread,  so when they have our favorite (whole wheat),  I stock up and keep them in the deep freezer.    This time they had quite a few,   so I bought I think 16 loaves.     Then I also got some Ciabatta bread,  which is very good when I make my Chicken with Spinach,  mushrooms and tomatoes.      I think that will be our dinner for New Years Day.    I have not had that in a while and it sounds really good.

The kids also had some Christmas money left still,  and that was burning a hole in their pocket,  so I took them to a store and let them pick out some nice things for themselves.     After we got home,  I didn’t do much of nothing.     We did go to the gym again tonight,  so that was nice.    It is soooo cold coming out of the gym after you have been sweating.     I really am hating this really cold weather.    I already wish it was Spring,  but that is a ways off yet.

Do you have plans for tomorrow night?    Just think,  1 more day and it is the New Year!   Wow,  how fast has this year gone by you know?    Oh well,   I sure hope we get our wish for 2010!!!    More details on that later……

Have a great night everyone!!!!

Back To Work!

Monday, December 28th, 2009

So,  did you survive this Monday?

I bet it was hard to back to work for most!   Today was one of those Calgon,  take me away type of days.    Geez,  did the kids ever have too much energy or what?   Almost like someone slipped them a stupid pill or something.    Oh my am I glad they are in bed!   Now tomorrow had better be a much better day.     One week from tomorrow and they go back to school.   FINALLY!    Feels like it has been over a month since they were in school.      You know,  when I was young,  school sure never had that many days off,  like they do now.   There are days off every month.    Just ridiculous.

Anyway,  other than the hellions driving me bonkers today,   I did manage to get some stuff done.   I had plenty to do and hope to get even more done tomorrow.      We did get a good workout in at the gym tonight and that always feels good.    Due to the weather and Holidays,  I hadn’t been able to go for 4 days.     Not a good feeling when you are used to going daily.    But back again!

Three more days and it will be the New Year!!!    Anybody have any hot plans for New Years Eve?   Not here,  as that is the 1 night I am not fond of going out.   I much rather stay in and let all the other boozers drink themselves stupid.   Rather them than me.

Well I need to shower.    Still feel a bit sweaty from the gym,  but most likely it is the stink…….Hehehehe.

Time to clean up and relax,  so enjoy your night and have a great day tomorrow!

KISSES!

Delayed Christmas Dinner

Sunday, December 27th, 2009

Today,  in fact this morning,  the city snow plows came through and cleared all the mountains of snow!!  How awesome was that.     So originally we were supposed to go to my Dads on Christmas for dinner,  but since we were in the middle of a blizzard,  that was delayed for today.

It was good.    Lots of food that was very yummy and the kids were behaved well.     Everyone got along very well,  which I am even more glad about.    It was a nice time and am now glad to be back home.    I had  a few glasses of wine and that is now making me very sleepy already.     Geez,  hardly drink and when I do have a few glasses of wine,  I feel like sleeping.    Oh well.

Man,  can you believe tomorrow is Monday already?    So much has happened since last Wednesday and the days have just flown by.    Before you know it,  it will be New Years,  which is just a few more days away already.    Well I do hope you all have a great day at work tomorrow.    I am sure it will kinda suck for most,  but the week will go by fast.   Besides,  it is another short week!!!   YEAH right?

Well I am about to drop my head onto the keyboard (which would leave some interesting impressions on my forehead),  so I am heading up to my comfy bed to relax and get my sleep.

Enjoy your day tomorrow!!!

Many kisses and licks where you want them!!

Merry Christmas To Everyone!

Friday, December 25th, 2009

WOW!   The day finally arrived……..Indeed I didn’t get much sleep last night,  but today it has been worth it.

I didn’t sleep as good as I thought I would have,  the high winds were blowing the house it seemed,  and at times I thought it was one of the children stirring through the house.    But bright and early,  we were awaken by my Son.    Of course the excitement was too much for his little body to contain.    The HUGE (as tall as him) Batman that Santa placed next to the tree was over the top for him.    He burst into the room shouting about what Santa left for him.     That was precious.    My first order of business was to get my first cup of java,  and that was very nice.

I am naughty,  in that I made my children wait a bit.    Since we are snowed in,  not able to leave if we wanted to,  I wanted a nice breakfast.    I knew we had all day to open gifts,  so I made bacon and eggs.    I got them all nice and full,  and by the time breakfast was done,   we were all ready to tear into the gifts.    The kids ooohed and aaawed over everything they received.    That is a very good feeling as I am sitting there,  thinking to myself,  patting myself on the back discreetly even.     Only I know the true secret of “Santa Claus”.     The kids were so involved in their new toys,   we almost forgot the stockings.    That was almost as good as their gifts,  as I made sure I stuffed many toys into their stockings,  as well as their favorite cookies and chocolates.    It was a  very very good Christmas morning!!

Of course my husband and I exchanged a couple of very nice items as well,  but we limit each other on what we buy for one another.    We get more joy watching the children.    Just like kids in a candy store.

My Dad did call off the Christmas dinner that was planned for today.    We have very high snow drifts all over,  and the snow is not to end anytime soon.    The winds are still howling,   and will continue into tomorrow.    So yes,  a very white Christmas indeed!    We will be stuck here for a while,  maybe days,  but I sure hope not.   Too bad Santa could not have afforded a big 4×4 for Christmas!   Ha!  If only……

We will enjoy our leftovers (which there are quite a bit) for dinner tonight.    The kids will be busy playing with all their new things and husband and I will take turns shoveling our driveway and walkway.    On one side of our home,  there is a good 5.5 ft snow drift.   I am sure by the time this all ends,  it will be much taller than that.    Too bad I didn’t have a snowmobile!    Oh how fun that would be here right now.    But I prefer to stay in and keep warm and watch my children.

So to all of those in the world today,   I sure hope your Christmas Day is a very merry one!   Whether you are snowed in like us,  or enjoying the nice and warm air,   enjoy the day,  be appreciative of all the people you have in your life,   your health,   and the fact you have a roof over your head and food to eat.    Too many out there suffer with none of the things mentioned.    So be joyful for what we do have.

To all the service men and women:     A VERY SPECIAL THANKS for your daily fight to keep the rest of us safe.   You have sacrificed more for us all than we can imagine,  but a very heartfelt thanks for all you do!  I am sure I speak for everyone when I say,   God bless and come home safely!

MERRY CHRISTMAS to everyone!!!!!!

XOXOXOXOXO

Christmas Eve (Happy Bday to My Man)

Happy Christmas Eve,  almost Christmas everyone!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my sexy husband.      This was our first Christmas Eve with no relatives celebrating with us.   It felt kinda strange,  but it was not a big miss either.     We went on with our day,  waiting for the snow to fall.   It sure has been!  The winds are very strong,  it is bitter cold.    The heaviest snow isn’t even here yet.   There are already high snow drifts that have formed.    It will be difficult getting out when it is finally done.

But we had a good day anyway.    I finally got my husbands cheesecake done last night and this morning I also made a lemon cake.    I took a nap this afternoon,   because I knew I would be up late tonight getting the kids gifts all wrapped.    For dinner my husband made Lasagna.    It was delicious.     We had to rest for a bit after to make room for the wonderful dessert.     That was also very very good.    The kids each had a couple pieces of cake and were quite active afterwards.      We had to tell them Santa wouldn’t come if they didn’t settle down and get to bed.    Finally they did,  and I was able to start the “Santa Claus job”.     You know,   sometimes I wish I could tell my children that he does not exist,  because why should a fictional character get all the credit for the cool things they get?    But then,  I know it isn’t fair for me to do.   Besides,  someday,  maybe sooner than I think,  someone else will break the news to them and I will have to tell them the truth.    So I guess I will let them continue to believe in what they do.    I was that age once myself and remember the feeling of excitement come Christmas morning.

Well I have a few more gifts to do,  and then on to stuffing the stockings……..I am hoping another hour or so and I will be so ready for bed!    Tomorrow morning when I awake,  I am sure the snow will be terrible outside,  but at least we are staying warm inside.

May you all have very pleasant dreams and a fantastic Christmas Day!

Getting Ready!!!

Thursday, December 24th, 2009

Today was an odd day.     I had errands to run and every time I got ready to go,  the phone would ring.    Mostly it was my husband,   bitching about his Mother and Brother.     Those people are truly some of the worst people to have as relatives.    They have some major issues,  and just when we keep our distance,  there they are like vultures,  ready to attack.    CRAZY!    So as I hung up with the hubby for the last time,  a few minutes later the phone rang again.   This time it was my Cousin.     Geez,  we have not talked in some time,  but I know we were on the phone for a good 2 hours for sure.    By then my husband came home from work,  so I had to let her go.

We headed to the gym then,  and came home and had dinner.    I had my errands to run,  wanting to get them done before the bad weather makes its way here.    So I did that all by myself and was gone a good 2 hours.    It was nice.   I put in my favorite Nickelback CD and jammed…..   It has been raining here most all day,   but tonight it is going to turn into the freezing drizzle.    Tomorrow morning it will turn over to snow,   and all day and all night,  into Christmas Day it will be snowing.    High winds,  blizzard conditions.    I guess we are expecting a good 10-15″ of snow.       My Dad was planning on having a Christmas dinner,   but I don’t know if that will happen yet or not.    If it doesn’t,  then hello leftovers!

After my time to myself tonight (errands),   I had to make my husbands Cheesecake for his Birthday tomorrow.   It is done,  just in the oven baking.    I am anxious for it to get done as I am quite tired and should be in bed by now.    But maybe another 1/2 hour to go and I am so there!

Enjoy your day tomorrow!!!

FUDGE!!!

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009

Yes!  I finally made my fudge today,  and happy to report that it is delicious!!   Melts in my mouth………..just like,  well you know (hehe).      I added some Irish Cream Kaluah to it even.    OH MY!      Now if we get snowed in,  like I am thinking,  I will be all set.     Now tomorrow I have to get the cheesecake for my Husbands Birthday made and I will be sitting pretty….  Oh my goodness,  it is a damn good thing we go to the gym every day!   Well ok,  not on Sunday’s,  but geez,  need a break you know?

Our crap weather has already started this evening.     We hit the gym and then made a dash to the grocery store and stocked up on several things,  because the weather we are expecting to get,  has already started.   So there will be no need to go to the store for anything.      Tonight it is light drizzle,   tomorrow the heavier freezing rain comes in and then come Thursday,  more freezing rain and heavy snow.    So far I think we are expected to get anywhere from 6-12″ of that white shit.     Then the winds will be strong,  and this is all supposed to be going into Christmas Day.     MERRY CHRISTMAS!     We still have plenty of snow on the ground from our last snow 2 weeks ago.    I am sure our circle will not get plowed again for a while.   It took a few days last time and that was terrible.   But at least the kids will be busy with all their new gifts!

Hump Day tomorrow……..Going by so fast.    My husbands last day for the week is tomorrow also.  They are getting off early,   so that will be fun for him to have that extra time off of work.   Just in time for the crazy weather!

Well time to go relax before bed………..Kisses night night everyone!

A Good Day

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

Happy Monday!!

It was a good day with the kiddos……….They were good for Mom,  and that is a very good thing!    We did go to the gym this morning and they had fun in the kids room.  Other than that,  we didn’t do much today, other than run an errand or two.

Tomorrow I am going to make my Fudge.   I am in need of my chocolate!  OMG!   I can eat that everyday,  and will make sure and get some made before Christmas Day!     Speaking of that………just a few more days away!   We are supposed to be getting another Winter Storm within the next 48 hours,  and that is going to be seriously crappy for the Holidays.    I am hoping the roads won’t be as slick as they are talking about,  but it is a wait and see type of situation.

This week will be flying by,  can’t believe tomorrow is Tuesday already!   Man,  before you know it,  it will be Christmas morning………Kids are counting down,  one by one.     I love to see them all happy and excited.   It is always a pleasure!!

Time to get some rest,   I am tired,   so I hope you all have a wonderful day tomorrow!

Kisses night night everyone!

Better Day!

Monday, December 21st, 2009

It was a better day!   The weather actually got above freezing today and the Sun even was out for the first part of the day!   HOW NICE!     We went out for breakfast this morning and did a little shopping.

Nothing too much,  but just enough to get out of the house for a little bit.    There is still quite a bit of snow on the ground and I have a feeling it will be here for a while yet.     Tomorrow the kids start their “Winter recess” for 2 weeks.     I was going to make  my fudge tonight,  but nah.    I will do that tomorrow morning instead.    Next week will be a crazy one.     I feel for all those that have shopping to do still.    I have to try and get my gifts wrapped slowly throughout the week,  so I am not having to do it all on Christmas Eve.   That is the last thing I want to have to do.   That is a busy night for us anyway,  and I am not one to stay up real late.    Just can’t do it so easily now.

I hope you all have wonderful plans for Christmas!    It will be a short work week and some might even have the whole week off.     Good for you if you do!

Oh man am I tired……..geez,  been yawning for the last 2 hours already.    We are doing a video tomorrow night!   YEAH!!   Just in time for the Holidays!!!  You will enjoy it,  trust me!

Time for my bed……..I am too tired and need rest.

Happy Monday tomorrow!   Dont’ work too hard!
